DENTURES

A denture is a removable replacement for missing teeth. They are designed to closely resemble your natural teeth and may even enhance your smile and appearance. They can improve your chewing, speech and digestion.

There are 2 types of dentures- complete and partial dentures. Complete dentures are made when all of your natural teeth are missing and are typically made from acrylic resin. Partial dentures are made when some of your teeth are missing and can be made from a mixture of metal as well as acrylic.

Dentures are very durable appliances and can last many years. Over the years the as gums under the dentures shrink or the dentures may wear, relining the dentures may be required or the need to remake the dentures.

The process of getting new dentures will require a few appointments over the course of a few weeks. Molds and measurements are taken and used to create your custom denture. A try-in appointment is usually necessary to ensure that we have selected the proper size, shape and colour of your teeth. At the final appointment the dentist may need to make some final adjustments to ensure a comfortable fit.

It may take a few days or a few weeks to get used to a new denture in your mouth. But very quickly you will eat well, speak clearly and smile with confidence.

We also do denture relines and same day denture repairs at Bathurst Finch Dental Office.
