Tooth Extractions
Extracting teeth is sometimes inevitable if the tooth is badly broken down or infected. We consider this the last course of treatment. Our primary goal is always to prevent tooth loss and maintain oral health. In cases where teeth are misaligned and crowded, it may be necessary to extract one or more teeth to ensure orthodontic treatment is successful. As well, if a baby tooth will not fall out on its own, it will also require an extraction.
When we extract a tooth we always strive for a painless procedure, good aesthetic result and proper patient care.
Recovery is usually a matter of keeping the extraction area free of food and debris and being gentle with the area, however soreness in the area for a few days is expected.
