Tooth Whitening

Tooth whitening, or bleaching, is a simple non-invasive dental treatment used to change the colour of natural tooth enamel and is an ideal way to enhance the beauty of your smile.

Because having whiter teeth has become the number one aesthetic concern of many patients, there are a number of ways to whiten teeth. The most popular method is using a take-home tooth whitening system that will whiten teeth dramatically. Since whitening teeth will only work on natural tooth enamel, crowns of fillings will not become whiter. Therefore, some fillings may have to be replaced to match the new brighter colour of your teeth.

Take home bleaching trays can be custom made for you by taking impressions (molds) of your teeth. At the second appointment, you can pick up your trays along with the whitening solution and instructions will be given to you on how to use these trays and care for your teeth.

A second option for bleaching teeth, is with the use of a laser and we can do it in our office.

It is normal to experience some tooth sensitivity during the time you are whitening your teeth, but it will subside shortly after you have stopped bleaching.
